Welcome
First and foremost, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the school staff, students and parents/carers for making me feel so welcome to Barrenjoey High School. I am honoured to lead such a tightknit school community and I am fully committed to working tirelessly to ensure that Barrenjoey High School continues to be a place where every student feels valued, every teacher feels supported, and every member of our school community feels proud.
My vision for our school is simple yet powerful: to inspire and build the capacity of our staff and students to maximise their potential. Together, we can achieve this through setting unashamedly high expectations, embedding a diverse curriculum underpinned by high quality teaching and learning, and meeting the intellectual, creative, social-emotional and physical needs of our students.
From a recent analysis of our attendance, reading, numeracy and HSC data, there are many positives to be drawn and huge potential for continued growth across the school. We have recently received our “Tell Them from Me” student data from the Semester 1 survey. This data has outlined some exceptional improvement in the following domains in comparison to previous years:
- Student perspectives of teaching and learning.
- Improvements in explicit teaching.
- Improvements in belonging, advocacy and positive behaviour.
In closing, I look forward to working closely with our parents/carers to ensure that your children receive the best possible education at Barrenjoey High School. Building collaborative partnerships will promote an optimal learning environment for all our students to be successful.
