The Science Faculty is committed to inspiring curiosity, critical thinking and a lifelong passion for learning through engaging, inclusive and authentic scientific experiences. Through inquiry-based learning, practical investigations and real-world applications, students develop the scientific knowledge, analytical skills and confidence required to understand and respond to contemporary challenges. Our faculty fosters supportive learning environments that recognise the diverse needs of learners, providing both targeted support and enrichment opportunities to ensure every student can achieve success. By encouraging innovation, collaboration and evidence-based thinking, we empower students to become informed and responsible global citizens who understand the vital role science plays in shaping the world around them.

Science is a compulsory subject for all students in Years 7–10, where students explore the disciplines of Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Earth and Environmental Science through a rigorous and engaging curriculum. Elective opportunities in STEM and Marine Studies allow students to further develop their interests, while Stage 6 students can pursue a broad range of courses including Biology, Chemistry, Earth and Environmental Science, Investigating Science, Physics and Science Extension. Beyond the classroom, students are encouraged to participate in a wide range of enrichment programs, including the Junior and Senior Science Olympiads, CSSA Initiative, Bright Sparks Connect, Science Club and REAPS (Real Engagement and Problem Solving). These opportunities promote advanced problem-solving, leadership, collaboration and scientific inquiry, enabling students to extend their learning and pursue excellence in science.
