Our school’s unique location by the beach in a natural bush setting provides an inspiring environment for learning and wellbeing. Barrenjoey is committed to continually improving facilities to enhance the student experience. We regularly upgrade classrooms, technology, and specialist learning spaces to ensure they meet modern educational needs. Outdoor and collaborative areas are designed to inspire creativity, exploration, and teamwork, while our focus on safety and accessibility ensures every student can learn comfortably and confidently.

Our School Facilities

Barrenjoey provides a safe and welcoming physical environment, enriched by technology and resources to support a range of teaching and learning activities. Our facilities include:

• A vibrant, well-resourced Learning Hub and Senior Study designed to inspire reading and support research in close connections with Learning Support and Careers.
• The Barrenjoey Community Performance Space for performances, speakers and large group gatherings.
• Professional recording studio in The Studio that has produced some of Australia's most successful musicians.
• Bright, comfortable classrooms open to plenty of natural light, ocean breezes and leafy outlooks.
• Barrenjoey Inclusive Learning Unit providing a dedicated learning environment for students requiring additional learning support and differentiation.

• Well-equipped science labs that encourage curiosity and hands-on discovery.

• A variety of sports fields that promote fitness, teamwork, and fun.
• Covered outdoor learning areas for large scale events and assemblies, sports and informal learning.

• Cutting-edge computer labs equipped with contemporary software to enable intensive digital learning.

• Two school buses to support excursions and inter-school sporting events.
• A dedicated, fully stocked uniform store.

Resources and Technology

Barrenjoey is a Wi-Fi enabled BYOD school where every learning space is equipped with the technology. Our teachers, in collaboration with our supportive IT department, seek to embed digital learning across all faculties and facets of school life. Barrenjoey provides access to extensive catalogue of resources encompassing both digital and printed materials as well as tools and equipment for specialist, hands-on learning.

Refurbished Science Labs provide exceptional spaces for scientific study.

Timber and Metalwork Workshops with extensive tools and equipment for learning across the industrial technologies.

Sports fields for fitness and fun across a range of sports and activities.

The Studio provides a professional recording setting for aspiring musicians.

The Learning Hub & Senior Study provides students with a range of informal learning options and resources, including Senior Study, Learning Support and Careers.

Technology enabled learning spaces provide up to date technologies and software for students.

Barrenjoey Community Peformance Space was a collaborative project involving funding from the NSW Government and the school's P&C Association. Built in November 2019. The venue is intended for both the school's performing arts students and the wider community.
